Nevada–based manufacturer successfully fights Unfair Trade Practices in importation of motorized scooters

Minden, Nevada. July 16, 2004 – Federal District Judge Howard McKibben issued a broad Injunction prohibiting the importation of infringing gas and electric motorized scooters from China, Taiwan, and Korea.

GoPed® brand scooters, first introduced by Patmont in 1985, are made in America and are protected by numerous patents, trademarks, and copyrights. At the hearing Patmont prevailed on the argument that the foreign scooters infringe upon its patents, trademarks and copyrights. “The Go-Ped mark is a well-known trademark off which the Defendants have been trading” stated McKibben at the hearing.
