Patmont Motor Werks, the manufacturer and distributor of the California Go-Ped® brand scooters and Pro Sports & Entertainment, Inc., an owner, operator and marketer of live sporting and entertainment events and the parent company of The Core Tour have entered into a one-year sponsorship agreement as the “official motorized scooter” of The Core Tour, a nationwide action sports and music festival tour.

As the official motorized scooter of The Core Tour, Go-Ped® is the title sponsor for two Core Tour competitions - the “Scootercross® Freestyle by Go-Ped®” and the “Go-Ped® Big Air Challenge”. The Scootercross® Freestyle by Go-Ped® features professional competitors performing aerial tricks such as backflips, 360s, and “Supermans” on motorized scooters manufactured by Go-Ped®. These tricks are judged based on style, difficulty and overall impression. The Go-Ped® Big Air Challenge is a single-elimination competition where athletes attempt to clear escalating heights. Both competitions are invitational and display the world’s best-motorized scooter riders.

The Core Tour series is comprised of pro and amateur competitions in bicycle dirt jumping, skateboarding, in-line skating, mountain boarding and live concerts that are conducted at Venice Beach, California (June 11-13), South Street Seaport, New York (July 17-18) and Huntington Beach, California (September 10-12). Each venue hosts more than 100,000 guests during its respective weekend. The decision to sponsor the Core Tour was driven by the motivation and dedication of PMW to actively participate in the recognition of Scootercross in one of the most well-known Action Sport Tour in the World and to deepen awareness for the California Go-Ped® brand.

For the first stop in Venice Beach, the guys on their Go-Peds® put on an amazing show! On Saturday during the Scootercross® Freestyle, The riders each got a chance to battle it out over a series of four runs each. The worst scoring run would be thrown out while the three remaining runs would be totaled to determine a winner. Chris “Crash” Call came in third receiving $400, Willie “Hollywood” Handy came in second receiving $600, and Brandon Currie came in first receiving $1000 plus additional prizes!!

On Sunday, the riders competed for the Go-Ped® Big Air Challenge where the winner takes all! Each run the ribbon would be raised anywhere between a half foot to a foot and a half. If a rider did not clear the ribbon, they were out and the remaining riders would go onto the next round. First, the guys started out at 12 feet! Then after a series of runs the ribbon made its way to 18 ½ feet straight up! First Willie Handy tried to clear it while doing a backflip but did not make it... Then upcoming rider, Ryan Farretta clears the 18 ½-foot ribbon and takes home the $1000 and prizes!! Overall, it was an amazing show for the riders and proved that Go-Ped® brand scooters could withstand extreme punishment and still keep on going!!

There appears to be some confusion under Florida law as to whether a Go-Ped brand scooter, defined in the Florida Statutes as a "motorized scooter" is required to be registered, and or its operator licensed, in the State of Florida. Title XII, Section 316.003 defines what constitutes a "motor vehicle" subject to regulation, at subsection (21):"Any self propelled vehicle not operated on rails or guideway, but not including any bicycle, motorized scooter, electric personal assistance mobility device, or moped."

Thus, all of our products, both electric and gas, are exempt from the coverage of the Florida Vehicle Code, and if the Attorney General of Florida thinks otherwise, he should consult the Separation of Powers clause in the both the Florida and California Constitutions, which provides that the legislature enacts the laws, and the Attorney General enforces them.
