Welcome
2003,
Year 2002 brought great
new products like the GOX, GSR40, GSR40 Interceptor, and the Sport
S25. There were also many interesting changes like Bigfoots switching
to yellow, improved twist lever designed motor engagement for the
Bigfoot and Geo line, new stain resistant translucency gray tanks,
improved intake design on the Strato charged engine that helps to
further reduce engine noise, along with many other small improvements
that have enhanced the Go-Ped® brand of products. PMW has also implemented
many internal operational changes that continue to enhance our products
and services to you.
2003 promises to bring many
new enhancements . Communication with our family of Go-Ped® Dealers
remains a top priority, so please check out our monthly Dealer Go-News
letters sent directly to you via email, and also posted on our website
www.goped.com.
Happy New Year!

| More Model Improvements from PMW!

Late Christmas Presents from PMW!
The Christmas season is our busiest time of the
year, but even with the factory running at full tilt we were able to sneak
in new product improvements.
Already
appearing on GSR's are new and improved chain guides. They are easy to
spot, because they now incorporate a strip of spring steel which provides
constant tension to the chain. This chain guide is made to be installed
once and left alone. Although it can still be rotated up for increased
chain tension, that shouldn't be necessary for most users. Also remember
to remind your customers that frequent cleaning and lubing of the chain
is the only way to get maximum chain and sprocket life! PMW recommends
White Lightning®, which is now included with every new GSR.
Another change to the GSR is a little harder to
spot: The 3/8-24 bolts in the rear wheel stack have been changed from
Hex Heads to Button Heads. How does that affect you? You will find that
it is possible to run an allen wrench through the holes in the rear disk
and into these new bolts. That makes it easier to reassemble the rear
stack after a tire or sprocket change. It will also be easier for you
to use the rear stack alignment tool, and insure that you are properly
centering the sprocket and disk. It is critical to chain life that the
sprocket be properly installed!
Here's a small change which affects ALL of the
big wheel scooters. The front brake disk has been made slightly thinner,
for reduced weight and rotational mass. The new disk will retrofit back
onto any model of BF, SBF, GBF, or GSR.
Back
in September we introduced the new stain resistant translucency Gray 1.5L
gas tank. We liked the look of it so much that we have now changed the
smaller 1Liter tank over to gray tint as well. If you don't have one in
your store yet, expect to see it in your next order. Both the large and
small gray tanks are available from our Parts Department for any of your
customers who want to upgrade.
Here are a couple of changes which you will be
seeing soon:
A spacer is being added to Super Big Foot motor
mount to allow the lockout bolt to be tightened down harder than before.
Most riders will probably never need it, but your most extreme riders
will appreciate the change.
Last is a change which will affect most of our
product line. We are introducing a new throttle cable which has an independent
kill switch wire that runs the length of the throttle. This change will
isolate the grounding circuit from the throttle cable and help to prevent
short circuits. You will see this change soon on the scooters which use
the longer throttle cable. Eventually it will also affect the short throttle
cable on the Sport and X-ped. The cables will retrofit to any older scooter.

 GSR40
On Ice,
Look what a couple of imaginative Go-Pedders did
when the weather got too cold to ride. Professional Jet-Ski Free-styler
and experienced ice rider Rick Roy installed spikes on his GSR40
Go-Ped® so he could ride on frozen lakes in his area. Rick stated
it was an absolute blast to ride and a great way to set up winter
racing in cold climates.
Rick had a blast, but remember that riding motor
vehicles on ice can be extremely hazardous and should only be done
by experienced athletes. Any modifications to your Go-Ped® will
void our 90-day manufacturer’s defect warranty. If anyone attempts
this they should check with local authorities, ice conditions, and
always wear all your safety equipment.
Looks like fun, but consider the possibility of
sliding out into “thin ice”, losing your GSR40, and possibly even
worse. That hot cup of cocoa at home or the local ice rink is much
more inviting than riding on unknown ice.
Thanks for the great pics, Rick!

Dear
Valued PMW Dealers,
Introducing the California Go Ped® Sport S25!
The
new Sport S25 Go-Ped was a huge success, and received very positive reviews
by both the dealers that took advantage of the Christmas introductory
pricing, and their many customers that walked them out of their doors.
This higher performing “Strato Charged” Go-Ped continues to establish
PMW as the environmentally sensitive company it wishes to be known for
without compromising the performance and reliability it is already famous
for. Just like the original, this direct drive improvement on the original
Sport® comes with the popular heavy duty frame, larger "pill" style deck,
and 25cc's of "Stratocharged" power for a faster, quieter ride. The available
colors are in our traditional Red and Blue, as well as Black. These are
available for order now.

Slick Wheel Kit |
by Jim Robbins |

PMW
started shipping the new GP Racing Slick Wheel Kit. Some of you may have
seen early prototypes of this new kit at the IGPA World Finals in Vegas
last month. In fact they were installed on Gabe Patmont's GSR Interceptor
when he won the Pro 41.5cc race! This kit is designed to bolt up on any
GSR Interceptor, or GSR40 with a *Bothy front fork.
The
motorcycle-style racing slicks provide unbelievable amounts of grip. They
are made with an Ultra Soft, 40-shore durometer. When you get your hands
on a set, compare it to our regular tires. Huge difference! The tires
are also tubeless radials, just like what you find on a race motorcycle.
Although they are low profile, the diameter is a little larger than the
standard tires, which means that the top speed will be increased slightly.
The kits also feature great looking Five Spoke
Alloy Rims, Billet Aluminum Hubs, and a slimmed down low-profile rear
fender. We assemble the kits with brake rotors and sprockets at the factory,
so that all you have to do is bolt the whole assembly to your customer's
scooter.
These GP wheels will be a must-have for serious
racers and serious mod-ers alike!
Check Go-Shop for pricing
Part# 2220
*PMW recommends using a bothy Fork with the PMT Kit. It
is possible to install the front wheel on a Leftie Fork, but you will
need to purchase a 7” long 5/8-18 Grade 8 (or better) bolt for a
front axle. You will also need to use the ¾” long aluminum spacer which
you remove from its position between the old rear wheel and tank mount
plate.

Team Go-Ped® is at it Again! |
by Tim Patmont |

 On
the very first weekend of the New Year, Team Go-Ped® was already
off spreading the Go-Ped® magic, at the Monster Truck Jam show,
in the Oakland Coliseum, CA. The Team was able to perform in front
of huge audiences two different times at each of the four shows
that happened over the weekend! The first performance of each show
was a five-lap exhibition race around the crushed cars on the monster
truck track. The main show was the Team Go-Ped® Freestyle Air Show!
These
shows were exciting with Kevin Kiraly, Jason Silveira, Willie “Hollywood”
Handy, and Tim Patmont showing their stuff off the 20-foot long
jump! The shows progressed with the tricks starting off small, to
doing “heel clickers,” “super man deck grabs,” and “trains,” where
all the riders hit the ramp single file or side by side! The shows
were always topped off with a show stopping back flip that Hollywood
amazingly landed each time! The crowds loved the Go-Ped® shows as
they made just as much noise for Team Go-Ped® as they did for the
monster trucks!
These
shows are great for the dealers, because the sport of Go-Pedding®
and Go-Peds® in general
are getting recognized in front of large audiences. Plus the announcer
mentions goped.com several times so the audience may find a dealer
if they wish. Next stops are Reno-NV, Sacramento-CA, San Jose-CA,
Bakersfield-CA, and many more will be added throughout the country!
